Philippine Airlines was a sponsor in
the Miss Universe 1974 (minor role) and Miss Universe 1994 (major sponsor). At
Miss Universe 1994, Philippine Airlines awarded the Miss PAL Ambassador to Miss
Denmark Gitte Andersen and gave Miss Universe 1994 Sushmita Sen a pair of
tickets to any destination of Philippine Airlines.
At Bb. Pilipinas, one of the minor
awards for the pageant is Miss Philippine Airlines.
Bianca Manalo Bb. Pilipinas-Universe
2009 was named as Miss Philippine Airlines. Interestingly, Bianca has worked as
a stewardess for the airline prior joining Bb. Pilipinas.
Miss Philippine Airlines 2010 is
Nicolette Henson who was hailed as 2nd runner-up at the Bb. Pilipinas 2010.
Shamcey Supsup was Miss Philippine
Airlines 2011. Philippine Airlines provided her a round trip Mabuhay (Business)
Class tickets on her way to and from Brazil. Shamcey was also featured in the
Mabuhay magazine's (PAL's inflight magazine) December 2011 issue.
MJ Lastimosa won the Miss Philippine
Airlines 2012 at the 2012 Binibining Pilipinas.
