Janicel Lubina did not win her Miss International 2015 bid.
But she did well and gave the Philippines a strong fight for the crown.
She was also very good in delivering her speech.


Janicel will never be forgotten.
She was only second to the best Filipinas who made us proud.

 She was a runner up to Megan Young in 2013.
Megan won Miss World 2013. 

 In 2015, she was also among the queens standing side by side
with Pia Wurzbach at the Binibining Pilipinas pageant.
Pia went on to become Miss Universe 2015.


Janicel must be their lucky charm.
May she continue to be humble and be able to reach her dreams.

Pia Wurtzbach: Miss Universe 2015

Global Beauties (GB), a website dedicated to the major international beauty pageants in the world, has named the Philippines as the Country of the Year for beauty pageants in 2015.

The Philippines’ success in the 5 grand slam pageants, the only country to do such feat in 2015, showed that the Philippines continues to be a powerhouse and a threat in the international stage.
2015 was another great year for Filipinos with the recent wins of Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach as Miss Universe 2015, ending the 42-year title drought, and Angelia Ong with a back-to-back win as Miss Earth.

Adding to Wurtzbach and Ong were Parul Shah, Hillarie Parungao, Janicel Lubina, and Rogelie Catacutan, who proved that indeed, the Filipina beauty is world-class.


Parul Shah came home from Thailand as Miss Grand International 2015 3rd runner-up, Hillarie Parungao placed in the top 10 of Miss World 2015 in China, Janicel Lubina placed in the top 10 of the Miss International 2015 pageant in Japan, and lastly, Rogelie Catacutan placed as a quarter-finalist in the Miss Supranational 2015 pageant in Poland.

GB reported that the successful streak of the Filipina beauty queens can be attributed to their “perfect and exotic ethnical blend”, the “fanatic” fans, the preparations, and the organizations behind them, namely, the new Miss World Philippines organization and the Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc.
The last time the Philippines was named by GB as the Country of the Year was in 2013 when Megan Young won Miss World, Mutya Datul won Miss Supranational, and Bea Rose Santiago won Miss International.

With the crowning of Pia Alonso Wurtzbach as the new Miss Universe Philippines, the netizens are unabashed in venting their frustrations with regards to the overall results. Like Missosology, many of the Filipino fans are rooting for Janicel Lubina to win the plum prize. She settled for the Miss International Philippines title which technically an equally prestigious title.

The attitude of the public should however change. What we are seeing are similar frustrations displayed when Janine Tugonon won the crown three years ago. Yet, Janine proved her critics wrong by placing as first runner-up at Miss Universe. It is time to support the Bb. Pilipinas organization and admit the fact that they know what strategy to deploy in the upcoming Miss Universe 2015. Since 2010, the Philippines never missed the cut and that’s largely because of the hardworking team of Bb. Pilipinas organization who toiled hard to transform the Philippine candidates to become world-class beauties. On top of that, Pia was known to be under the tutelage of the legendary beauty maker Jonas Gaffud. The beauty training camp of Jonas known as Aces and Queens has produced the likes of Megan Young who earned the country’s first ever Miss World crown. Without doubt Pia is under a very good trainer – the one that could actually produce tangible results.

 

Pia herself is not an inferior candidate. Her beauty can easily shine in the crowd and has an international appeal. She is very experienced and she also possesses a body that could wow the judges. Above all, she has excellent speaking skills which is very necessary in hurdling the preliminaries at Miss Universe. So instead of crying over spilled milk, the Filipinos should rally behind the candidate chosen by an organization that has successfully brought honors for the country. Any negative comments and destructive criticisms will never help the country overall. When the Miss Universe season heats up, all Filipinos will be supporting Pia anyway. So it is a puzzle why some chose to start it all by griping and complaining.
