Miss Universe 2011 is Engaged!

News reports tell us that Leila and Osi Umenyiora have been engaged since February 2013. So I did some Google-ing and found out that the July 5th affair is the traditional engagement ceremony with no less than the First Lady of Angola attending. It's a prelude to their wedding which is coming very soon.

There is a certain pattern which is found in Miss Universe pageant

It has been the pattern recently that when

A certain country wins as First Runner Up,

The same country will be unplaced the following year.

Brazil was Miss Universe 2007 First Runner Up but unplaced in 2008.

Colombia was Miss Universe 2008 First Runner Up but unplaced in 2009.

Dominican Republic was Miss Universe 2009 First Runner Up but unplaced in 2010.

Jamaica was Miss Universe 2010 First Runner Up but unplaced in 2011.

Ukraine was Miss Universe 2011 First Runner Up but unplaced in 2012.

And so the ultimate question is:

Philippines was Miss Universe 2012 First Runner Up. Will Ariella break the First Runner Up Curse?
