TRIVIA: Before Jewel Mae Lobaton
accepted the offer to become the Philippine representative in Miss Universe
1998 due to the citizenship issue of Tisha Silang, the title was offered to
Ruffa Guttierez but she declined. People were speculating that the reason why
she refused is because of her topless photos that already circulated in the
internet which might cause her to be dethroned anyway. However, come to think
of it…if she could have accepted it, she could have placed high in the pageant,
and could even win the third Miss Universe crown for the Philippines! This lady
is such a beauty, even until now! Timeless!
