The final screening of
Binibining Pilipinas 2014 was held after three rounds of preliminary screening,
and 40 official candidates were chosen to embark on a two-month journey towards
the coveted crowns of the country’s most prestigious beauty pageant.
One statuesque stunner this year is Nichole Marie Ramos Manalo, 24, from Parañaque City, who is following in the footsteps of her sisters Katherine Ann Manalo-Hernandez (2002 Bb. Pilipinas-World and Miss World top 10 finalist) and Pamela Bianca Manalo (2009 Bb. Pilipinas-Universe). Standing at 5’9 ½” and blessed with a flawless complexion, Nichole undeniably has the beauty genes. In addition to having beauty-queen sisters, her aunt, Nini Ramos-Licaros, was the first woman to hold the title of Bb. Pilipinas-International in 1968 while her mother, the former Norma Ramos, was the first Miss Caloocan titleholder in 1970.
Nichole was born on October 13, 1989, the youngest daughter of Rodrigo and Norma Manalo. She is a registered nurse currently working at the intensive care unit of Ospital ng Makati. She obtained her Nursing degree from Manila Doctors College in 2010.
After constant prodding from friends who saw her potential as a beauty queen, Nichole finally decided to take the road trekked by her sisters Bianca and Ann and Aunt Nini. With the enviable pedigree she inherited, Nichole confessed that “the pressure has always been there but I feel it is finally the time to prove myself as an individual and contribute my worth to society by way of Bb. Pilipinas.”
Nichole believes she is more focused and prepared now and ready for the race towards the Bb. Pilipinas crown. “I’d be extremely happy to win any of the four crowns, but if given the choice, I prefer the Miss International title because I am a naturally compassionate person and the pageant’s advocacy to promote friendship and goodwill suits me perfectly.”
The 51st grand coronation night of Binibining Pilipinas will be at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on March 30, 2014 and will be aired on ABS-CBN.
