Several websites and missosologists, so-called pageant
experts, put in their pageant predictions prior to the Miss Universe pageant. Since they always have a word or two in the
world of beauty competitions, we always looked up to them and listen to their
critical evaluations of who failed it and who nailed it. Now that Miss Venezuela already captured the
crown, let us go back to these “pageants experts” and check out who failed in
their predictions and who nailed it by guessing the right winner.
MYKIRU.PH – one
of the blogs I visited regularly online, the site predicted Miss Spain to win. The blogger was made
a bulls-eye in predicting the fourth runner up finish of Miss Brazil. Miss Venezuela
was 8th on her list. Score:
11 out of 16.
STARMOMETER.COM – One of the websites I regularly visited for pageant news and galleries,
this site picked Miss Puerto Rico as
Miss Universe 2013 winner. Miss
Venezuela was on their 6th list. Miss Philippines and Miss
Spain was on their top 5 list and they had it right when they predicted
that Miss Spain will eventually win
first runner up. Score: 10 out of 16.
MISSOSOLOGY .ORG – armed with the slogan “analyzing beauty pageants”, the site’s top 2
picks - Miss Israel and Miss Poland did not even advance in the
top 16. Hmmmm, I wonder what sort of analysis did they make. But, but,
interestingly, 2/3 of their list entered the finals. Score: 10 out of 16.
GLOBALBEAUTIES.COM – one of the oldest websites that I followed since
college, this site boasted of having followed the delegates even before they
arrived in Russia. This site predicted Miss
Spain to win. Miss Venezuela was
their 7th pick. Of their top 5 pick, only Miss Spain made it. Score: 9
out of 16.
MISSOSOLOGY’S CIRCLE OF PAGEANT EXPERTS: AMADEUZ, TSATSABI, JOHN KEVIN, SEPHORA
CHANEL, VALLERIAM, MARIA ANDREINA, NINA CLEOPATRA, MOCHA, VALLERIAM, MARCJACOB,
MALKOVICH, HARAYA, QARLO, MISS COSMOPOLITAN, KENHAN, TITAN, JERRY, SANTI
MENDBER, TERESE 23 & UNO - GOD OF BEAUTY – Uno totaled all the predictions of the list and they came up with 17
girls who they felt are most likely to make it. 17 because there was a tie in
the 16th spot (Miss Russia
and Miss Israel). Sadly, they picked
the wrong girl as they field in Miss
Puerto Rico to win Miss Universe. However, Miss Venezuela was part of their top 5 and they correctly predicted
that Miss Spain will land on the
first-runner position. Score: 8 out of
17.
SASHFACTOR.INFO – a new website devoted to beauty pageants but slowly gaining big hits
among Filipinos, this site had Miss
Philippines as their bet for the Miss
Universe 2013 crown in their list. Miss Venezuela was 6th on
their list. Gosh, they correctly predicted the placements of Miss Spain as first runner up and Miss Brazil as fourth runner up. Score: 8 out of 16.
RAPPLER.COM
– Written by beauty queen Joyce Anne
Burton, the website picked Miss
Puerto Rico as their ultimate pick. Miss
Venezuela was nowhere to be found in their top 20 list, what a shame! A big
disappointment when Miss Joyce made impressive predictions during the Miss
World Pageant. She must redeem herself in picking out her choices for the Miss
International and Miss Earth soon. However, the site saved itself for
predicting correctly the first runner up slot of Miss Spain. At least bumawi din. Score: 6 out of 16.
