Australian Amanda Arbitrario, 18, of Panglao, Bohol was crowned Miss Scuba
Philippines 2014 after besting a field of 12 finalists during the pageant’s
Grand Coronation Night last September 26, at the the Pacific Cebu Resort in
Mactan, Cebu.
Aside from
winning P150,000 in cash, she also earned the right to represent the country in
Miss Scuba International 2014, which will take place in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia
on November 28. Last year’s Philippine representative Christine Paula Bernasor
who was the 2013 Miss Scuba International first runner up said the pageant also
aims to promote safe diving practices through worldwide professional training
organizations. She said it will also elevate international tourism and cultural
appreciation.
Amanda was
Miss Panglao 2011 1st Runner Up. After being crowned Miss Caloocan City 2014,
she represented the city in the Miss Philippines Earth 2014 Pageant won by
Jamie Herell of Cebu City.
The 2014
Miss Scuba Philippines, the local version of the 2014 Miss Scuba International
founded by Mr. Robert Lo in 2011, was presented by Pacific Cebu Resort &
supported by the City of Lapu-lapu, the Department of Tourism Central Visayas,
Canon, the Islands Group, Smart and Megaworld Corporation.
