Ariella Arida: Miss Universe Bound
After her
official send-off party last October 17, Miss Universe Philippines 2013 Ariella
Arida leaves for Moscow, Russia today aboard PR 306.
The 61st edition of Miss Universe pageant will be held on November 9 at the
Crocus City Hall in Moscow. In the 61 year history of the Miss Universe
pageant, the Philippines has produced two Miss Universe winners, Gloria Diaz in
1969 and Margie Moran in 1973. In the last three years, the Philippines has
consistently placed in the top five , with Venus Raj placing 4th runner up in
2010, Shamcey Supsup 3rd runner up in 2011 and Janine Togonon winning 1st
runner up in 2012.
Since winning one of the coveted crowns last April during Binibining Pilipinas
Gold, the 24-year old, 5’8” beauty has undergone months of rigorous and expert
training. Ariella underwent training for personality development, Q&A,
speech, social graces, gym, pasarela and hair and make-up. She even had
one-on-one coaching with previous Miss Universe
bets Venus Raj and Shamcey Supsup. With this winning streak, the pressure is
now on Ariella to match her predecessors’ feat, or even win the Miss Universe
crown.
Like venus, Shamcey and Janine before her, Ariella
is excited to represent the country during the Miss Universe pageant. “I’ve
worked hard to prepare for the pageant. I feel proud to be representing the
Philippines, and I am focused on winning the crown for the country,” she says.
Ariella is part of the Golden Batch of Binibining Pilipinas. She hopes to
continue the winning streak of the Philippines started last September by Miss
Supranational Mutya Johanna datul.
Our Miss Universe bet is definitely prepared for
the pageant, but we have to do our part to help her in competition. “I am
asking all our kababayans to pray for me during the pageant, and show some
support by voting for me at the Miss Universe website,” she says.
Ariella will be competing with 86 other candidates
during the pageant. She and the other contestants will be participating in
various pre-pageant night activities and competitions. The coronation night
will be telecast live on ABS-CBN. Help boost Ariella’s chances in the pageant
by voting for her at the Miss Universe website, www.missuniverse.com.
Let us vote for Ariella and help her get the
country’s third Miss Universe crown!
