One of the most prestigious beauty pageants in
Zamboanga Peninsula is the Binibining Sibugay. Recently, the facebook page of
Binibining Sibugay received questions about the residency issue of the eventual
winner Marissa Jade Arang who represented the municipality of Alicia. According
to one observer named Mayinn Baylon Sarabia:
“Sorry to say
dis guys: i am n0t proud of the bb. Sibugay 2014..okay lang sana kung
sibugaynon tlaga ang kumandidata.. We called it "MISS SIBUGAY" dba?
The candidate of Pob. Alicia was fr0m JOLO.”
Not only that. The second runner up Shekka Torres Evedientes
who represented the municipality of Payao, was also rumored to be from
Zamboanga del Norte.
As of now, there is still no official statement from
the organizers.
